Nickserv commands: Nickserv commands- You can't use the shortcut method for webtv.
Registers a nick on StarChat, protecting it from use by others. Nick registration also permits the ability to register channels and to receive channel op privileges.
Nick registration is required to send and receive memos. You can register up to 5 nicknames per email address.
Register:
/ns register emailaddress password
example: /ns register jinxi@home.com EIEIO
Identify:
Identifying to a nickname: Identifies to a registered nick allowing registered channel access and memo retrievals. It also makes it possible for computer users of certain irc programs to view the channel list.
/ns id password
example: /ns id EIEIO
Those are the two basic commands to get a chatter ready to chat.
However, sometimes, you will get a chatter that needs to change their password or email.
To set various options on a registered nick.
To change your email address:
Changes the email address from the one used during nick registration. Nick must be activated again to verify new address.
/ns set address jinxi@home.net
To protect your registered nick from being used:
Prevents others from using a registered nick. NOTE: Please be aware that when you set nick guard on you MUST identify to your nick within 30 seconds when you log on, or your nick changes to “Guest”
/ns set guard on
To change your password:
Changes the password for a registered nick.
/ns set password newpassword
example: /ns set password Chaney
Chanserv:
ChanServ allows for the registration and maintenance of a channel and will prevent
others from using it. Channels not used for 14 days are dropped from registration.
Note: If the Founder of a channel allows their nick to be dropped from registration, that nick’s registered channel is also dropped.
To register a channel:
This command registers you as the owner of a channel, and allows ChanServ to help control your channel. You can specify who can be opped, who is automatically
kicked and many other features with ChanServ.
Register a Channel:
To register a channel, you must have a registered nick, be in the channel and be opped. Channels expire if no one uses them for 14 days.
/cs register #channelname
Example: /cs register #StarChat
To set ops in #channel:
Adds a registered nickname to channel operator list.
/cs addop #channel nickname level
Example:
/cs addop #tariq tJ 5

-1: AKick - User is banned from channel
0: Standard user
3: Auto-voice (+v on join) [VOICE]
5: AutoOp [AOP]
8: Minor SuperOP [MSOP]
10: SuperOp [SOP]
13: Co-Founder [COFOUNDER]
15: Founder [FOUNDER]
What Can These Levels Do? (assume accumulation)
Level 3:
UNBAN me
Automatic +v upon join
OP (+v instead of +o)
DEOP (-v instead of -o)
Level 5:
Automatic +o upon join
OP (+o)
Level 8:
Access to all Akick functions
UNBAN ALL
UNBAN mask
Level 10:
Access to add ops of levels 5 and below
Level 13:
Access to ALL functions
BUT:
CANNOT SET #channel FOUNDER
CANNOT DROP #channel
To delete an op:
/cs deop #channel nickname
Example: /cs deop #StarChatBar GreyStone
Setting akicks:
Place, remove or list permanent kicks for a registered channel.
/cs AKICK #channel [add|del|list] nick!userid@host reason
add will add a new akick:
for example:
/cs AKICK #tariq add sillynick!goofy@IRCop.StarChat.Net Flooding
del will delete an akick:
for example:
/cs AKICK #tariq del jinxi!Starmirc@ServOp.StarChat.Net
list will list the akick list for a channel:
for example:
/cs AKICK #sillyChannel list
