MemoServ

  MemoServ is a free service that allows clients with registered nicknames to send memos to other registered nicknames on the StarChat network.

Memos can be sent to individual users or to an entire channel, and are stored in the MemoServ database until they are deleted or expire after 10 (ten) days.

Note: You must be identified to your nick to use these commands.

Webtv: MemoServ is on the 8th row of the starchat IRC.

Send

This command will send a memo to another registered nickname. Both sender and receiver must have registered nicknames.

/ms send nick message
Example:

/ms send Starbright Will you please whisper me when you get online?

CSend

Sends a memo to a selection of Channel Ops –

Note: If you leave out the Level, the memo will go to ALL OPs of the channel.

/ms csend #channel [level] message

Example:

/ms csend #SillyChannel 10 Reminder: OP meeting Sun at 7pm Central

Read:

This command will display a memo that is currently in your Inbox.

/ms read

Example: /ms read 2

Delete:

This command will permanently remove a memo from your Inbox.

This action cannot be undone later.

/ms delete

Example: /ms delete 2

Retrieve:

This command will send all memos currently in your Inbox, to the email address used during nickname registration.

/ms retrieve

List

This command will list all memos currently in your Inbox.

/ms list

Set commands

Options: Forward - Max - NoFwd - NoMemo - Secure

Set Forward

Sets a new nickname to who all memos will be forwarded. The other nick must be registered and allow memos to be received.

To disable forwarding, specify your own nickname.

/ms set forward Starbright

Set NoFwd

When set to ON, nobody will be able to forward memos to your Inbox.

/ms set nofwd

Set Max

Sets the maximum number of memos you can house in your Inbox.

Once this limit has been reached, nobody else will be able to send you any memos.

Example:

/ms set max 10

Set NoMemo

When set to ON, nobody will be able to send you any memos at all.

/ms set nomemo

Set Secure

When set to ON, you will have to be Identified before it is possible to access your memos.

/ms set secure
